Missions – Local
Chaplaincy and Breakfast Club
At STBC we support the Chaplain at Harristown State High School. One of the highlights of the year is the annual Trivia Night where we seek to raise funds to help support this role. It is held at STBC with participants coming from all over Toowoomba and beyond. If you are competitive and have a keen mind for trivia, get a team together or join a table for a fun night, filled with laughs, for a great cause!
Another ministry outreach is the Breakfast Club at HSHS. Each morning brings around 60 – 70 students to receive breakfast to start the day. The Breakfast Club runs all week but if you’re keen to lend a hand and partner with the HSHS community, join John and Geoffrey on Wednesdays or Owen and Jenny on Fridays! We’d love to have you come along.
A prayer walk around the school takes place on the second Saturday of each term. A prayer breakfast also occurs once a term. These are times where members of the HSHS community, our church and other community members meet to pray for the school and other needs.
Last year our pastor took up the mantle to be a R.I. teacher at Rangeville State School, broadening his influence on the ‘front line’. This is a ministry that had been on his heart for a while. Please join with us in praying for our pastor as he allows the Lord to work through him, ministering to this young generation.
“Conquer Series” – The Battle Plan for Purity
A team of committed and passionate leaders at STBC have been annually walking men through a program called the Conquer Series. This series contains biblical teaching to help men walk in freedom as well as other proven tools for a life of sexual purity.
Join over one million men in over 80 countries who are learning to live free of porn through the proven strategies and practical tools taught in the Conquer Series. Throughout this series you will:
- Explore strongholds that keep men in bondage
- Examine the neurochemistry of addiction
- Discover the weapons and strategies of God
- Investigate proven strategies to prevent relapse
- Study practical daily techniques to remain free
In 2021, the series kicks off on Tuesday, 25 May at 7pm. This will take place at the church. For more information, please contact Rev. Daniel Wallis on 0401 030 586.
