Mission
To reach out to men, women and children, as individuals and families, to tell them about God’s amazing love for every person regardless of age, gender or ethnicity.
Our Church History
The humble beginnings of South Toowoomba Baptist Church took the form of a Sunday School in early 1949. They met in Mr. Brunner’s garage which was next door to the present site of the church. Land was donated and a hall was built in 1952 on the present site. The hall was opened in 1953.
An addition was made to this hall in 1965 for a kindergarten class and in 1966 another hall was moved to the property to be used for Sunday School.
On 6 April, 1975, South Toowoomba Baptist Church was constituted as an independent church. The work increased and further room was needed. The two halls were removed to make room for a two story building which was completed in 1985.
In 2009, the church was damaged by fire. A major renovation was undertaken and the congregation was able to move back into the present church at completion of this work. A Re-opening Service was held on 12 September, 2010.
Rev. Daniel Wallis was called to pastor South Toowoomba Baptist Church in February, 2011 and has faithfully served this congregation for the past 12 years. Since the church’s official beginning 48 years ago, STBC continues to be a family friendly church with a heart for people to hear the Gospel. Over the years, it has been active in sending out and supporting missionaries around the world. Praise God for this beautiful church community and His faithfulness.
